NECANN Boston 2020 – Where Sativa Spring Begins

This year, spring officially gets underway with the commencement of the sixth annual New England Cannabis Convention (NECANN) in Boston. Set to open on the vernal equinox, NECANN – the East Coast’s largest cannabis industry event – takes place March 20-22, 2020, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

Since its inaugural event in 2014, the NECANN conference series has become a destination of pilgrimage for the New England cannabis community, consistently attracting the largest number of hemp, MMJ and cannabis industry professionals. This year promises to be no different. NECANN Boston 2020 will, once again, be the largest, most important cannabis industry event on the East Coast.

It’s hard to imagine that NECANN started out in 2014 as a small consumer show at The Castle at Park Plaza in Boston – a venue capable of holding only around 1,000 people. Now, an estimated throng of 10,000 attend the annual NECANN assemblies. The conference series was created with the aim of seeding resource hubs for the rapidly expanding cannabis industry – events where advocates, consumers, entrepreneurs, investors and patients can connect, learn and grow together. Over the years, NECANN conferences have become tailored to their venues, providing a superior alternative to the generic national canna-conventions that are the order of the day, an approach that has resulted in consistently high ROI for conference attendees, exhibitors and sponsors.

Last year’s NECANN Boston was a blast, featuring over 100 speakers and more than 300 exhibitors. Now, as before, NECANN Boston 2020 will gather a miscellaneous mix of companies, brands and product lines, all in one place. While some legal CBD products and seeds will be on sale, no products containing THC will be displayed, given away or sold.

Exhibiting companies will come from a variety of sectors that participants may not expect to find at a cannabis conference, including equipment and lighting, nutrients and other supplies, and a range of services such as legal, HVAC, IT, packaging, labeling, security, real estate, staffing, HR and brokerage.

This year’s event will mark the second annual return of the New England Cannabis Community Awards (link to vote below)! Focused exclusively on New England, the mission for the awards is not a “who’s best” contest, but rather a chance to spotlight, elevate, and appreciate some of the people and organizations with significant contributions for the New England cannabis communities and industries. The NE Cannabis Community Awards recognition ceremony (http://nnw.fm/Y6d4P) will take place at the conference on Friday evening, March 22, from 7-9 p.m. The awards event requires a separate ticket for attendance (purchase tickets at http://nnw.fm/zqM4s. All net proceeds of this event will go toward NECANN’s social equity grant, which will be awarded the same evening to an eligible local cannabis business in 2020.

PLEASE NOTE: NECANN does not curate or endorse the nominee list or the eventual winners. The candidates for each category are simply the entities and individuals who received the highest number of total votes in response to the nomination request ballot posted by NECANN over the last two months. The results are a tallying of the votes, as the spirit of the New England Cannabis Community Awards is not for NECANN to judge or rank individuals and organizations, but rather to shine a spotlight and show appreciation for the community as a whole.

NECANN Boston 2020 is an imperative for anyone who wants to take the pulse of this fast-paced industry. The convention also provides the ideal environment for newcomers to learn more about how the industry works. Naturally, with such large and diverse participation, NECANN Boston 2020 will offer networking opportunities galore.
