FinovateEurope 2020 to Present Fintech Gathering Just in Time for Valentine’s Day

This year, there’s more to Valentine’s than cards and candy. Come February 11-13, 2020, the most exciting conference in the fintech space will get underway at the Intercontinental Berlin. Continuing a tradition first begun in 2007, FinovateEurope 2020 promises an exposé of exciting technologies and applications in banking and financial services. Those in attendance can expect to hear how Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings can help maintain customer loyalty, how new fintech startups are providing traditional banking products and, of course, news of the latest developments in blockchain.

FinovateEurope 2020 will be a first for Germany but not for Europe. In 2019, the UK hosted the premier event. Attendees still remember the sights and sounds of that seminal gathering, as well as the nexus of cooperation and collaboration that it seeded. This year will be an encore of that successful event, with more than 1,200 senior participants expected, over half of whom will be representing financial institutions. These seasoned executives will be treated to a series of demos from at least 50 innovative fintechs, as well presentations from the more than 150 speakers scheduled to discuss the latest trends and developments.

The keynote speaker for FinovateEurope 2020 will be influential thought leader Steven Van Belleghem, a professor at Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and a managing partner at InSites Consulting, a fast-growing market research and consultancy firm. Van Belleghem is the author of several works – including the highly acclaimed Conversation Manager – that explore how digital technologies might be used to enhance customer satisfaction. He will deliver his keynote address, titled ‘Which New Technologies Will Be Truly Transformative in a New Digital World?’, on the morning of Tuesday, February 11.

Louise Beaumont, Francesca Hopwood Road and Yoni Arbel will also address attendees. Beaumont is co-chair of the open banking & payments working group at Tech UK, Britain’s leading lobby group for technology companies. Tech UK members include Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google. Road is head of regtech & advanced analytics at the Financial Conduct Authority, and Arbel is head of treasury at Transferwise, the British online money transfer service.
