At FinovateFall 2018 in Times Square, You May Find Yourself Talking to a Chatbot

At the upcoming FinovateFall 2018 conference to be held September 24-27 at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York, don’t be surprised if you find yourself talking to a chatbot or hearing about how a blockchain-based platform is already being used for U.S. Treasury bond settlement. For the Finovate conferences have been, since 2007, the stage on which the latest financial and banking innovations have had their debuts.

As with past Finovate forums, the conference in fall promises an exposé of exciting technologies and their potential applications in financial services. You can expect to hear how analytics are helping banks anticipate client needs, how financial service providers are using social media to improve their products and, of course, how blockchain is changing the game across a multiple of industries.

The Finovate series of conferences is the brainchild of Jim Bruene, who has been working with banks, credit unions and fintech providers for years to optimize the user experience of their products. Since founding Finovate in 1995, Bruene, a former banker, worked with Microsoft, U.S. Bancorp, Wells Fargo, Chase, First Chicago and Michigan National to launch the Home Banking Network in 1997, the first Personal Financial Management (PFM)-based online banking system.

Finovate’s subscription newsletter, Online Banking Report (now renamed Digital Banking Report) was an important voice in the nascent fintech sector. The company launched its first conference series focused on financial and banking technology innovation in 2007. Today, Finovate conferences around the world showcase cutting-edge banking and financial technology through a unique blend of short-form demos and key insights from thought-leaders.

FinovateFall 2018 will feature three categories of participants. ‘Sponsors’ are companies that support the event in a variety of ways; ‘presenters’ are companies demonstrating their new technologies in presentations billed to last just seven minutes; and ‘speakers’ will talk about a wide variety of topics on the day following the demos themselves. While some speakers are linked to sponsors, they are primarily selected for their expertise.

Featured companies are set to include Adobe, BlueRush, BNY Mellon, Capital One, Citi Ventures, Citizens Bank, Comcast Ventures, Deutsche Bank, Envestnet | Yodlee, Experian, Fidelity, HSBC, IBM, Intellect Design Arena, JP Morgan, Oracle, RBC, Square, TD Ameritrade, TD Bank, Tinkoff Bank, United Services Automobile Association, US Bank and Wells Fargo.

FinovateFall 2018 will take place at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York City, on September 24-27, 2018.
