This fall, New West Summit 2019 is set to fill San Francisco with a confluence of ideas and investment in the cannabis space. The conference, now in its fifth year, also promises to be a veritable Octoberfest, packed with an abundance of entertainment and networking opportunities, as well as three exciting parties. Slated for October 10-11, 2019, at the Bespoke Event Center in San Francisco, New West Summit 2019 will be the first conference to focus exclusively on the game-changing, disruptive developments in technology, investment and media within the cannabis industry.
The summit will include over a hundred panel discussions featuring leading industry figures, as well as exhibits by more than 50 companies and an investment pitch slam that will showcase some of the most innovative developments in cannabis. The investment pitch slam is designed to offer startups and fledgling companies immediate exposure and invaluable opportunities to develop relationships with backers and peers.
Keynote speakers are set to include Alicia Silverstone, Mara Gordon, Killer Mike and Jay Faires. Silverstone, a well-known actress, is the New York Times bestselling author of ‘The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet’. She is also the co-founder of mykind Organics, the first-ever food-based, certified organic and non-GMO Project-verified vegan supplement line.
Mara Gordon, a specialist in the development of cannabis-treatment protocols for seriously ill patients, is the co-founder of a variety of brands and companies, including Aunt Zelda’s, the Oil Plant Inc., Zelda Therapeutics Ltd. (OTCQB: ZLDAF) and Calla Spring Wellness Inc. Her pioneering work in the field of medical cannabis has been chronicled in films such as ‘The Medicine in Marijuana’, ‘Mary Janes: The Women of Weed’ and the award-winning documentary ‘Weed the People’. Gordon has dedicated herself to bringing about change in the health care system, beginning in California.
Killer Mike is a Grammy Award-winning rapper, and Jay Faires is the founder of the Wellness Agency, an organization dedicated to fostering companies and talent in the rapidly growing $4.2 trillion global wellness economy.
The summit kicks off on October 10 with a welcome address and a 10-minute leadership meditation hosted by ‘Come Back Daily’. Those introductions will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Wes Martin, president and CEO of Wes Martin Cannabis Brands. The discussion will address ‘The Future of Cultivation: Family Farm Appellations to High-Volume Agriculture Technology, How Do We Adapt & Succeed’. Dozens of similar sessions are on the agenda as the two-day summit unfolds.
