This move marks the first time the company’s diabetes screening program has been available in Western Canada. Avricore signed a master agreement with Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. earlier this year. That agreement involved a pilot program that provided patients with access to point-of-care blood screening and health-data management for potential risks for developing diabetes and cardiovascular conditions. Those services were offered through AVCRF’s HealthTab-integrated Afinion 2(TM) analyzers by Abbott Rapid Diagnostics. Based on the positive feedback from both patients and pharmacists, Shoppers Drug Mart began looking for ways that more patients could benefit from the service.
