Metals Innovation Initiative (“MI2”) has announced its first-ever Metals Innovation Search 2023 competition, which is open until Aug. 15, 2023. According to the announcement, the contest is designed to recognize innovations that can enhance the metals industry. The nonprofit announced the inaugural competition, noting that it is open to ideas spanning environmental sustainability, end-of-life recycling, advanced manufacturing and workforce development, as well as any other novel projects that could revolutionize the metals industry. The company noted that anything from early-stage ideas to established, revenue-generating enterprises are eligible for entry. Those selected from the competition will be invited to present their ideas at MI2’s Factory of the annual conference, slated for Sept. 5, 2023. The conference offers an opportunity for innovators to secure investment and partner with MI2’s esteemed member companies. “The importance of metal technology spans across a multitude of industries,” said Metals Innovation Initiative CEO Vijay Kamineni in the press release. “Fostering innovation within this sphere is pivotal to addressing future challenges.
